Garage door repairs
Garage door remote not working.
Nine times out of ten it’s the battery. The checks to do in two minutes, and when the opener itself needs a look.

What it usually means
If the wall button works but the remote doesn’t, the problem is the remote: a flat battery, or a remote that has lost its pairing. If nothing works, it’s power or the opener. If the remote works only from very close, it’s usually the battery, sometimes interference.
What to do right now
Try this first
- Put a new battery in the remote.
- Check the opener has power: the light should come on when you press the wall button.
- Make sure the opener isn’t in holiday or lock mode.
- If the remote still won’t work, it may need pairing again, which we can do for you, or supply a new Tri‑Tran+ remote.
SafetyGarage door springs and cables are under extreme tension. Adjusting or releasing them is a job for a trained technician.
What we do
We re-pair or replace remotes, check the opener’s receiver and power supply, and clear interference. If the opener is old, we’ll tell you whether a new remote or a new opener is better value.
