A service visit

What a service covers.

  1. Balance and springs

We check the door opens and closes by hand with about the same effort each way, and adjust spring tension where it’s needed.

  2. Rollers, hinges, tracks and cables

Cleaned, lubricated where Garador says to, checked for wear and fraying, and fasteners tightened.

  3. Opener force and safety reverse

Travel limits, the force setting and the stop-and-reverse on contact are tested, plus safety beams if fitted.

  4. Seals, locks and the report

Weather seals and locks checked, and a note of any parts that will soon need replacing.

Care guide

Looking after your door between services.

Garador’s advice for coloured steel doors. A service by a technician still matters for the warranty.

  1. A dark Garador sectional door, clean and dry

    Wash the door

Clean water and a cloth every 14 days, more often near the sea. Pay attention to spots the rain doesn’t reach, like the face just under the door head.

  2. A Garador opener

    Never wash the opener

Keep water away from the automatic opener. Washing it voids the warranty and could cause electrocution.

  3. Check the balance

Every three to six months, put the opener in manual mode and open and close the door by hand. It should take about the same effort each way.

  4. Look, don’t touch

Check the lifting cables for fraying or rust. Never adjust cables or springs; they’re under extreme tension. Call us instead.

Garador doors and openers must be serviced within the first 12 months of installation and every two years after that by an Authorised Garador Dealer, to keep the warranty valid. Garador openers count cycles and remind you when a service is due.
